A Vision Born in Faith

In November 1985, Christian broadcaster Randy Henry launched WEGS 91.7 FM with a simple but powerful mission: to encourage believers and proclaim the truth of God’s Word across the airwaves of Northwest Florida.

The call letters — WEGS — stand for “We Encourage God’s Servants.” That phrase has defined the heartbeat of the station for more than four decades. What began as a step of faith has grown into a trusted source of biblical teaching, worship music, and spiritual encouragement for thousands of listeners throughout the Florida Panhandle.

Licensed to Milton, Florida, WEGS broadcasts at 91.7 MHz with 20,000 watts of effective radiated power, reaching Pensacola and surrounding communities along the Gulf Coast.

Ownership & Network

WEGS is owned and operated by Florida Public Radio, Inc., a non-profit 501(c)(3) Christian broadcasting organization dedicated to spreading the Gospel through radio ministry.

Florida Public Radio oversees multiple stations that share a commitment to biblically sound teaching and Christ-centered programming, including:

  • WPIO (Titusville, FL)

  • WEJF (Palm Bay, FL)

Together, these stations extend faith-based programming to communities across Florida, while maintaining a local presence in each market they serve.
